Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Getting skis to Japan

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey

Looking at flights to Japan at the moment and lots of options with a mix of Air Japan, KLM, Air France etc. Looks like two connections.

A mate and I are looking to take our skis with us but have tried to contact a few of the airlines individually and just can't get a def answer.

So. Should we both take a small suitcase and single ski bag each or a big suitcase and triple ski bag with 2 pairs and clothes in there as well? Anyone know if we can get away with it?

Slightly doing my head in so any experiences much appreciated. We are not booking directly with airlines but through a flight comparison ting and just don't want to get stung.

Thanks in advance. J

BTW Rob@rar and Mike. Looks like we are going to cross over with you for a couple of days so I'll give you a shout.

They should be included in your weight allowance , we are going to tokyo with etihad in feb and they say we can put the allowance together with the three of us , so one big roller with all skis in and a medium suitcase each .

But make sure as the exceess could be £££££££

kesone1, we went with ANA in February double ski bag and a bag each wasn't problem, more of a challenge getting it all on Japanese railways
