Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just looking at booking a trip to La Grave. I'll probably take the train, and the public bus service from Grenoble to La Grave looks very convenient. In fact, a little too convenient perhaps... on the way back the bus gets in to Grenoble gare routier 28 minutes before the train leaves... is this long enough? I gather the gare routier is close to the gare SNCF, but is the bus service reliable enough for this connection to work?

, the bus is supposed to be timed to coincide with the SNCF service but I can't comment on how that works in practice. The stations are right next to each other.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I have been to La Grave for the last five seasons and I would not risk a 28 minute connection.
In high season the roads and autoroutes can get very busy, plus the fact that there are some single lane roads where an accident or breakdown can cause havoc. When making connections I have always allowed far more time.

Thanks for that... it's a bit annoying as the next train is 3 hours later
Late March is not likely to be busy is it?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

, no, it shouldn't be particularly busy in late March. The bus and rail stations are more or less in the same building. I'd be happy with a 28 min window, personally - we don't get road carnage that often, and if we do it's usually in high season.
