Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Arc's "Festiveness"

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just been supping a nice glass of Mulled Wine and was wandering if Les Arcs is "festive". For example, I really want to try Eggnogg and would be great to try this on the slopes. I have never been to resort that offers this sort of thing, especially on the slopes (usually a beer and a Mars Bar)
Im staying at 1950, so hoping that will add to the "winter wonderland", but does Les Arcs have quaint stuff hapeninng? If so, what sort of stuff do they offer that is different froim the smaller/les formed resorts (bulgaria etc)

thanks. (sorry for all the " "'s)

Assuming you mean alcoholic eggnogg 'on the slopes' then please, please don't do it!!
The Les Arcs Piste Patrol will have you in the cells quicker than you can say 'who's nicked my gloves'.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

not too bothered about the drunkiness of things, But just hoping LA has things the quiter resorts Ive been to dont offer. Ive heard 1950 sometime put on fireworks at night etc etc. Eggnogg at night is fine. I never drink ski.

Jon Ford, There is an events calendar available at reception each week, but as a minimum for outdoor stuff you'll have toasted marshmallows at the fire-pit ( sat eve 5pm), a torchlit descent that you can participate in (Fri eve iirc) , and a family ski race ( Friday afternoon).

There's usually at least one other evening's entertainment outdoors, it just depends "what's on" for your week.
Fireworks used to be every week, but the expense was such that we've cut back to Christmas, New Year's Eve, Russian New Year, and possibly Paddy's weekend. Not times when you are around I don't think from previous posts.

Jon Ford, no, but for my sins I'm heavily involved in both the apartment owners' group as well as the village council. So not out there in Feb: Jan and April only unfortunately!

The Ice Cream Treat is laying on a bit thick - all the places on the slopes serve booze and vin chaud/genepi is almost forced down your throat. I've never seen anyone nicked for boozing yet. That said, skiing pissed is for mugs. If you want 'quaint' try Chalet de l'arc above 1950 or Belliou la Fumee at Pre St Esprit
