Can anybody tell me will there be shops,restaurants,ski hire shops etc open around 7pm 31st Dec in Zell am see as we are arriveing late,please and thank you

No everything closes fairly early on New Years Eve as far as I can remember., certainly wont be opened at 7pm .Restaurants will be open but most will be booked out.

agree with that no chance of any shops or hire shops open. cannot really reccommend anywhere to eat but i suggest booking a head, on the way if you are car you shoudl find service stations open for basic foodstuffs and beer!

I've always considered beer the only basic foodstuff needed.

For basic foodstuffs try the petrol garage (don't remember the name) in front of the ice rink/ swimming pool. There is a good shop there selling quite a good range of food and drinks (including beer). It's usually open when everywhere else is closed - never tried it on new year's eve though.
Try contacting the ski hire shops to find out if they are open new year's day.

Staying in Zell from 22/12, will try and leave you some snow. Staying in the Hubertus Pension directly opposite City Express, 10 m walk to the lift .... bliss.
