Feeling good about my recovery. I think I'll visit Hemel for a gentle ski on Monday, 10.00am and see how it goes. Don't suppose there will be anyone else around?
Probably buy a jacket too (Mrs snowball's Christmas present to me) - mine is rather tatty.

snowball, fantastic news. I always love to hear of fellow survivors. And yes I enjoy skiing far more now than before (despite the lack of fitness).
With regards to insurance, I just stick with normal travel insurance which excludes pre-existing conditions. I figured that a cancer-related emergency might force me to cancel a holiday but it's unlikely to happen whilst I am actually on holiday. The premiums to include such a pre-existing condition are extortionate. I'm now almost five years clear so hopefully I'll be regarded as a 'healthy' person again.

I'll look into who is best insurance to combine post Op with off-piste without a guide. Meanwhile I'll try to get a fit-to ski-letter from my surgeon.
