It's how fighter jets measure their speed. Mach 1 is the speed of sound, mach 2 is how fast I ski (now I just need to learn how to stop)

bitoffluff, at last count Action-Outdoors hadn't sold all their spaces at UCPA for the New Year week. If you are still stuck closer to the date, give them a call, they may be able to do you a deal. Alternatively, have you tried Alpaka (sp?) Lodge in Le Lac or some of the places in Tignes Les Brevieres - they are more likely to do something outside of the standard week long bookings.

Well I found a studio for 4 persons for 24/12 for 14 nights for the price of 3420 Euros in Val d'Isere. That is 61 Euros per night per person for a self catering studio.
Two people have to share a double bed though, so you might want to split that between 3 instead making it 81 Euros a night per person!
I would stick to sleeping in a van personally, but then it gets very very cold....... brrrrrrrrrr

FAQ
Soooo, looking to tag on an extra week before coming home. Im a female skier, upper intermediate (happy on blacks but not at mach 10 (always wondered what that meant 
), more the first / last chair than get hammered type. I ll consider anything at a reasonable price.
