TR.
Dav is a badass. He made climbing Everest look like a cakewalk although he did overtake 70 gapers on summit day. Skiing Lhotse Face looks fun. He's planning on going back to ski Lhotse Couloir in 2013. Look out for his documentary with Beadleman revisiting the 1996 disaster. He seemed pretty stoked on Antarctica. He has a cool life and an understanding wife. He was not the best skier in the room - some guy on the balcony gave him a pro call-out.

fatbob, Mrs D & I schlepped up to the smoke and were glad we made the effort, great guy and an excellent presentation. Best question of the night from a kid along the lines of "do you like snowboarding?" The whole SKGB involvement was a bit odd I thought.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Nick D, They organised the whole thing so were entitled to brand the heck out of it and it seemed that Dav wasn't over for long. This then a bit of promo work for S&R/Kastle/Spyder, maybe some discussions with some TV companies about buying his documentary then home I guess.
I should have asked the question about sponsorship: 3 years ago he was telling us all how good Helly Hansen was and how excited he was to be working with them. This year quite a few plugs for Spyder. I appreciate how they pay the bills but I wondered if he really expected us as punters to lap it up?

fatbob, Spyder and the Ski Club just seem such a bad fit for him, guess its bums on seats and shifting product that counts and I don't suppose the 300 odd (?) ticket sales covered his expenses in being there. Thought S&R had a pretty pathetic display of 2 shop dummies with Kastle skis though.
