Has anyone every had any problems when ordering nline from Edge and Wax?
Ordered a pair of Hestra gloves on the 11th of November and never heard anything back so enquired about it on the 23rd of November to be told there was a delay at Hestra and that by the end of the week edge and wax should have the gloves in. Still no update from them so enquired again today.
Anyone else had problems? Starting to get a bit tired of chasing and not that hopeful that they will arrive to be given as a Christmas present as planned

Can only speak from my experience, and based on that I couldn't be happier with the service I received and indeed the price!

1873Chris, Hestra are being very slow sending out gloves this year. No idea why. E&W should probably have kept you updated none the less....

Hello there, sorry to hear you are having issues, Alison is sat right next to me who manages the orders. All Alison has done today is check Hestra orders and call Sweden to get updates.
To be honest, Hestra are behind in production, they have had HUGE growth, so they opened two new factories this year alone, that takes time to get right, and a shortage of available leather has lead to delays in production. Elk leather in particular which they use a lot has been very hard to source globally.
We get drops at least twice a week, often more, and we call Hestra every day for an update, so do get in touch throught he proper channels (Phone is best when an independent ski shop like us is getting 500 emails per day!), we do our best to answer quickly but our focus is on answering correctly so we do have to rely on waiting for answers from Hestra, who in turn have to ask production. Hestra literally ONLY make gloves, it is a family run business, it is what makes the product so good, but sometimes makes getting info a little slow. There is just one person handling all the UK enquiries, and the poor lady is often emailing me 10pm UK time to give us answers
If you are Chris P the orders were dispatched on Friday from Sweden and are on route, Alison is also replying to your email right now. Unfortunately when Hestra are experienceing 400% growth, and we are having to contact the factory directly in Sweden, in this world of instant answers and email, Hestra takes a little longer to handle, but we treat our customers orders like they were our own, and we all know here that most items are being ordered as gifts!
Hestra are aware they need to improve things and they are installing new IT systems etc to make things a lot easier. At the moment we have to phone Sweden every day to get information from them
We work with them closely, just last week we had all the colour codes added to the glove images when you hover over them to help customers to find out colour codes more easily.
Many thanks, and sorry you felt the need to post on the forum rather than give us a call, we don't bite. Or Alison doesn't anyway!

If you offer items for sale you don't physically have in stock you do risk receiving poor feedback.

This. I no longer order from places that do 'just in time', some places even have the cheek to charge your card, then no communication and when you chase them up you get 'oh it's not in stock' - thanks when were you going to tell me?
My personal experience with edge & wax has been driving 15min to fedex to pick up my order only to find it was another customer's but sent to me.

There's some fantastic customer services right there. MD is a forummer.
I've also only ever had pleasant service from E+W. More than happy to use them time and again and certainly recommend them.

Thanks to you and the other positive comments, standing here in a cold warehouse picking peoples glove orders it warms the soul. The nip of scotch every now and again helps too of course!
Spare a thought for me, all I want to do when packing stuff this nice is GO SKIING!
The positive comments are appreciated!

IME hestra gloves are just too small: even the (supposedly) big ones.

Glad it all worked out well! Was just about to post that my experiences with Edge and Wax have been superb on the 2 occasions I've used them. Dirt cheap and quick delivery of the right goods. I'm very happy with them.

Are you one of those people who just has bad luck with everything, or is it just limited to ordering ski gear?

scottydog, Out of interest is there a problem with grey imports of Hestra? Someone on Ebay is selling multiple pairs of Seth Morrison models for £95+ postage! quite a serious discount.

Not really, but there ARE a lot of ski shops with their backs to the wall right now, not seen any fakes myself but who knows!

bumpity bump for great service,
Santa got me some new gloves this year, but the tw*t ordered me the wrong size (too small, you know what they say about a guy with big hands). Posted the return late on 23rd Dec and the replacement was shipped on the 29th. All of which I reckon, considering the madness of Christmas, represents top class service.
big thanks and full recommendation to scottydog & team
