Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Luggage

Taking three bags on hols, for me plus 2 kids. Reason being each bag can only weigh 20kg.

I usually take a TNF duffel (think it's a large - big anyway), but was wondering about something with a separate boot compartment. Was looking at the salomon container and tanker bags - wheels, boot bits, robust construction. Not the most expensive, but still about a hundred quid.

Anything else i should look at? Anyone got either of these?

Thanks!

I'd recommend the Salomon bags 100%. I've had loads of gear from Salomon over the years and it always works out to be good value for money - quite expensive to buy but lasts a long time and does its job really well!

andy from embsay, Vested Interest Warning;

We use the Cabin 70 and have the Container 100 and 120. The wheels are actually in line skate wheels and really handy and easy to move about.

Since we have purchased them both my parents and the in laws (No Skier mega travellers) have gotten them and love them

That's helpful, thanks - looks like the Container 100 is the way to go...

I got a Container 100 a couple of years ago, would highly recommend it too. The skate wheels are excellent and work on surfaces like gravel and rough ground where normal luggage fails. Only slight quibble is that there's no way of compressing the bag if it's not full, so I bought a couple of nylon straps with buckles from ebay and that did the trick (this guy in fact: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/handystraps1/?_trksid=p4340.l2559).

Yes, thanks Maersk, that's one of the reasons I've decided against the larger Tanker bag - it weighs over 6kg on its own. Stick a pair of 4kg boots in there and that's half your luggage allowance gone!
