Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cant believe I have left it this late to book anywhere but am looking at going New Year, some good deals to be had too! I have never been to the Ski Welt area, looking at staying in Hopfgarten or Itter? anyone been and any thoughts on it, just hubby and I and 11 year old son, all intermediates. Thanks

, for intermediates it's good! The Hopfgarten side has a bit of a problem with snow down to the valley sometimes. You might be a bit better off over on the Söll, Itter, Scheffau, Ellmau side. The area is huge though, so even if you can't ski down to the valley in Hopfgarten there is so much to do it really isn't a problem.
You might also consider Kitzbühel / Kirchberg a couple of Km down the road, which I personally prefer!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Personally much prefer Westendorf to the rest of the SkiWelt.

I agree with

- for intermediates it is very good. I've only ever stayed in Soell but it doesn't really matter where you stay as the whole area is accessible. I believe that one town does have slightly steeper skiing (Westendorf, maybe?) but you can get to it from any town in the area.
