Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What length Missions

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm 173cm tall, 11st. I've always hired skis for the last few years (4 kids in 7 years sort of limits the time on the slopes!)

I'm ashamed to say I have no idea what length I've been skiing the last few years I think something in the 160-170cm range.

I would say I'm a fairly aggressive skier happy in most places except perhaps very steep moguls. I've seen a pair of MIssion 178s and wonder if they'd be right. Back in the 90s I skied 190 straight skis and I'm fairly sure I was given some 160 somethings last year which were too short and when I swapped them for some 170 somethings I was much happier.

The Missions are a bargain but looking around I think something in the high 160s low 170s is recommended for my height and weight.

I know I should probably hire as normal for my 1 week a year but the reviews of the Missions have been so positive and I'm really keen to try them.

Arrrggggghhhhh.... can't make a decision.

Get them. They ski short and you have the weight to bend them just fine.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Sound ideal.

I love my Mission 178s and I am taller, heavier (lots) and almost certainly older than you. They are a great all-round ski and do wonders for my confidence in soft or chopped-up conditions. I replaced 170 Head carvers. No difficulty.

jonathancarty, I'm considerably shorter and lighter than you and ski the 168s very happily, although some people say they're too long for me. They're not - they ski short, so you'd be fine on 178s.

Just a quick reply to say AWESOME and thank you so much.

Had a great week, after 10 years of hire skis they were a revelation. We got back and immediately bought my wife a pair of 158s.

Thanks again.
