Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello All,
I've been looking to get a new helmet and have got some good advice on here, but there is limited helmets to try in Dublin. I am heading to Chamonix in a couple of weeks and thought i would see if I could find the right one there. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a shop with a good selection of helmets in Chamonix?
Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

there is an entire POC shop if you like expensive brightly coloured things

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Brightly coloured things I like, not so much the expensive part!

Dublinfella, If you're driing out, Vieux Campeur in Sallanches or Quechua in Domancy might be more cost effective.

Hello all,
thanks for getting back so quickly, we will have a car, but I'll only have Saturday evening as we fly in late on Friday and will then be legging it back for Sunday night's flight. If i get a chance I'll have a look down mountain, but reckon I'll most likely just be in the town itself.

Dublinfella, Between Snow & Rock, Great Outdoors and 53 Degrees. I dont think you will find a much wider selection in Chamonix other than the specialist stuff like POC/Shred lids.

Snow and Rock have a reasonable selection but Great Outdoors and 53 are very limited. I've been told to look at POC and K2, also was recommended Carerra - so trying to get as wide a choice due to strange head/neck shape!

You need to put then write some text then close the tags with
so it ends up like this clicky for mappy

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Yeah, have seen they aint cheap alright, but at the same time, worth it if the fecker actually fits and stops me from overheating. Where in Dublin are you Fattes?

You know it makes sense.

Good shops for helmets in Chamonix:
POC
Zero G
Legend CHX
Freshtracks (new K2 proshop, used to be called Otovalo)
Snell Sports
There's loads around, you shouldn't have much trouble. Also: there's a small Quechua shop opening on Av Aiguille du Midi in Chamonix this winter, so no need to go down to Passy to score sketchy jackets
