Poster: A snowHead

Has anyone got or had a Deuter rucksack? Any good? I'm looking at the Edge 25 with built in CE back protector to kill 2 birds with one stone.

walker2686, great packs, under rated. I'm not familiar with the model you mention but I would have thought it will be very well designed. Have you tried it on? With a back protector, which is a great idea incorporated in to your pack, fit is key.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

walker2686, agree with parlor - I have 2 and they're great. My smaller day sac has stood up to loads of abuse and use and the only thing that's broken is the little plastic avalanche notice sewn inside which has disintegrated. The other one is larger and not as well used but is also a great sac with loads of excellent technical features.
Don't know the model you mention but if mine are anything to go by I'm sure it'll be very good indeed and will last for ages.

My TransAlpine 25 is my every-day pack for full-time mountain bike guiding. It's done 2 seasons and still looks brand-new. Very impressed.

I've got a Freerider 22 H2O and it has been fantastic. I use it every day for work and carry my cameras in it when skiing along with the water sack. So far it's been all over Europe, down to South Africa and across the Pond. Those who know me also know the abuse it has to take.
It's about 4 years old now and nothing has broken or worn out! I can't say that I'm careful with it either. Excellent build quality and robust materials.

Mr N and N junior both have them, like them and have abused them for several years without much sign of damage. The only reason I don't have one is that I couldn't find one to fit. However, I see they do women's models now, so may try again.
I am thinking of getting N junior one with a back protector - does it do anything apart from stopping you getting stabbed by the contents of your pack?

Good sacks; not seen that exact model but between my wife and I we have 6 Deuters (the fit's just seem to work and they are good value)
