waynos, Yep, why the focus on Austrian resorts in the article, the same could be said about France, Switzerland or Italy. Even Norway, Sweden and Finland have been short of snow in some resorts recently, with recent FIS events in all 3 countries having to be cancelled.
They've produced the Daily Mail Ski Magazine for years, but it's more or less the same crap regurgitated year after year.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

well, certain resorts are ok - Serre Chevalier for instance is looking good. But yes, concentrating on Austria shows a lack of thought

they didn't get the snowheads memo that says slagging off France is de rigeur but you always have to be nice about Austria

Surely it would be in everyone's interests for them to publish banner front pages saying NO SNOW IN EUROPE THIS WINTER. Resorts would then panic at the opinion leading credibility of this esteemed organ and drop their trousers to offer discounts, free lift passes etc to woo back plucky British middle class customers.

Does anyone still read the newspapers and take them seriously?!! Perhaps this is a test by the daily mail to see if we are still paying ANY attention to what they have to say!
Still waiting for snow in France, but it has come later than this before. Last year was amazing about now, and look how that turned out....

Alastair Pink, Not wishing to be picky but the Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard magazine has never actually been published by Associated Newspapers, originally it was a company called dmg world media and in the last 4 years a very independent company called VOS Media who also organise the Metro Ski Show in Earls Court

In the light of the above why do they persist in the name Daily Mail. Is it because they accept print media is dead so they've no chance of luring in new customers with a rebranding? Noticed they were too tight to give away free copies at the Ski Show this year so that'll be circulation numbers down further.

You know it makes sense.

fatbob, Think they had to buy the name on good will - frightened they would lose readers if they dropped the DMS&S name too quickly
