Verbier or Crans Montana. Zermatt a bit longer.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

mattiwilkin, depends what you want, I took Mrs radar to Gstaad for the weekend, the train journey from Montreux to Gstaad is amazing in terms of scenery, the journey form Geneva isn't that bad either as you go along the lake for a lot of it, the rail journey is dead easy both ways just one change, however it is about 3 hours. Its and easy rail journey with easy transfers.

mattiwilkin,
two options:
geneva airport...walk 100m to station...get on train to Brig...get off at Sierre...walk 100m to funicular at Crans Montana....stay in any of the hotels with a 30% offer at the moment (see crans montana website), they will pick you up from the funicular and transport you to the lifts in the morning...talk to Yves in Swiss Mountain Sports and he'll sort tuition in very small groups if they need it.
OR
train to brides les bains...taxi or walk from station to altis val vert hotel ... lift 50m away and bubble up to meribel
simple...

Swiss trains are disjointed and mindnumbingly slow.
But if you must send them on a trainride, then Geneva to Zermatt is a good one.
It is not the prettiest or the easiest journey. But it is worth it to go see the giant Toblerone that hovers over the resort.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Engelberg if they can actually ski. You pass some great lakes and scenery. Wengen if the train is more important than the skiing.
