Lidl will be selling snow chains for £19.99, among other odd bits of winter gear, on Monday 28 November. Blurb says: Extra strong rhombus shaped chain mesh made from alloy steel with galvanised connecting elements. In various sizes.

Not really - in line with what snowchains cost in the US. Most snowchain vendors = autoparts stockists needing to carry stock in various sizes. Lidl stock stuff briefly in a limited run until it sells out, although it will sell at a profit, really just a tool in driving traffic to their stores on a regular basis who will then buy stollen, jam, washer fluid etc etc.

I got some last year, which I've never used but at least it meant I had some if I was pulled over and asked to prove that we were carrying them.
The sizes are pretty standard, but since no-one seems to be prepared to say what the standards are, the answer is to go in and look at the boxes - on the front, there's a list of tyre sizes which it will fit, so you will have to go through each of the 4-5 sizes until you find the "correct" one, and even then I suspect that it will be an approximate fit since the expensive sets tend to come in sizes between those sold by Lidl, e.g. 85 and 95.

Certainly last year they had correct tyre sizes on the box, took a bit of digging though the heap of them but found some for the (if I remember right) 215 55 16 tyres on the Saab 93.
