Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First xc World Cup this weekend

The first World Cup of the season is this weekend and its been moved from Beitestolen to Susjoen due to lack of snow.

There is some info on the trials and tribulations of getting some on snow training for the british squad here:

Though we did get some good results in the first FIS race of the season with some of our juniors, though due to lack of snow and race changes they ended up race against the seniors.

We should have at least one racer in the mens in Andrew Musgrave, I'm not sure if any of our other WC qualified men will get a start, or if any of our WC qualified ladies will be racing this weekend.

The lack of natural snow means the race will be on almost entirely man made snow, which they'e only just started to make du to the mild weather. They should have enough for the race, but it might be quite a short loop. I guess Mussy will be starting fairly early, which might be an advantage, as lots of skiers doing multiple laps of a short loop could mean it gets cut up for the later skiers.

Looks like temps are cooling down in Norway though and the snow cannon have been turned on in other resorts aswell as Andrew Young, who is training in Geilo, says they now have an ~3km loop of manmade snow to train on.
