Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Carving is Boring..

I was learning how to ski with rented parallel skis.

Then I bought a pair of cheap carvers and on the firstday I suddenly found myself able to turn freely.

If people condemn or laugh at carvers and have learned skiing the hard way then they are laughed at by the cross country skiers, who go up to the top of a slope without the assistance of any mechanical means.

saikee, Ive often seen those cross-country guys plodding up the piste, and wondering why? Is there a rule that forbids them to use the lifts? I can see there might be great adventure in stepping out into the great wilderness beyond the resorts, but surely it would be sensible to go as far as possible on "public transport" before striding off into the distance.

markP, except that we have a name, a date, a place and a challenge - just down the road. Not often that a troll can be pinned down to that extent. He must be a either a baby troll or a complete amateur! We shall see....

Why bother

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

Because when you stop tackling a challenge (win, lose or draw) you may as well lie back and ask them to screw the lid down Exclamation

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Masque, depends on the challenge. There is a difference between a challenge and an adolescent dare! NehNeh Razz

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Masque, society runs of the oil of manners. Some things offend others that you may not find offensive, but respect should temper your conduct. (Similar thoughts are being expessed in the thread on "Racism".)
Not all "challenges" should be tackled. To a burglar the challenge is your front door or window. To the virus writer the challenge is to get into your computer and be a nuissance.
The challenges to tackle are self improvement or helping others. I hate rules as much as you, but most rules are actually sensible. Bashing them just makes life worse for the rest of us.

Wow. I disappear for a day or two and a certain Mr Neal pops his head up.

Long time no see. How is the most stylish black skier in Europe (and probably the world)?
