This weekend (4th Nov) I was at Rivington alpine again for a base grind on my well used skis and a looky at my boots.
So a visit to the new premises was made. Very nice they are to. I had to have a minor adjustment on my boots and the skies were done.
What made the service stand out was the fact I left the skis to be serviced and then picked up later in the afternoon while a business meeting was attend to in Preston. However due to the nature of the beast the meeting ran over and the weather was atrocious therefore making a return by 5 impossible. A quick call and Graham keep the shop open for us to collect the skis eventually arriving at 5.30
I would like to say a big thank you to Graham for the time and service given.
The reports of Rivington as been closed in the Edge to Edge thread are very wrong.

I got my ski boots from here 2 years ago. I only went in for some socks and came out £300 lighter with head boots and customised footbeds. By far the best £300 spent and the knowledge was second to non. This was at the old shop, must take a visit to the new premises soon. I need my old battered skis to get a service!

Could this be any more commercial? Pimping another commercial venture is surely in violation of the 'current' rules?

Guvnor, no it doesn't contravene the rules. Dwarf Vader has no commercial interest in the company, he is just a satisfied customer.

Guvnor, it was rumoured in another thread that Rivington had gone bust which, since it is untrue and given the visibility of , could have had a highly detrimental effect on their business and indeed continued existence. If my business were the subject of an unfounded rumour, I hope someone would have the decency to put the record straight.

What? Someone put a post on this very forum suggesting rumours about a business going bust, thus potentially having a very detrimental effect on their business? That is indeed truly shocking - I would hope that the thread was pulled immediatly by the moderators. Except it wasn't, was it? Maybe Rivington just don't advertise on here and are therefore considered fair game....? Shame, it seems they have a pretty loyal following and some very satisfied customers - fair play to them, and glad to hear that they are doing so well.

Very ballsy for one so young. I think most get to about a thousand posts before suggesting a veteran poster is under the influence. If you ski like you post, awesome.
