Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Head Worldcup iSL 2012

Hey guys, I've been thinking about adding a new pair of skis to the quiver, currently I use some 179 Salmon twentytwelves (2011 season) and some 175 Head supershape magnums from 2009/2010. I love both of these skis but I'm looking for something to give me more on the piste. Last year I skied on the 2011 Head Worldcup iSL (165cm) skis belonging to an instructor I know and it was like a revelation, the power coming out of a carve was unreal and the control was just amazing. I never felt I could ski so fast (with regards to turns, obv outright speed isn't the point), I just don't have enough superlatives to explain how fantastic I found them.

However, I only used them for a day or two, the only problem I have was worrying about the getting stolen at apres ski, all my friends ski typical park skis, step-ups, afterbangs, or larger big/all mountain skis, prophets/twentytwelves etc so they tend to stick out a bit. My question was has anyone done a season on something like these, how are they to live with/maintain? These are the skis I'm considering if you're unsure of the ones I mean:

If anyone is considering them and wants a review from someone who skied last years model a little, they are A++

I spend most of my time on Slalom skis, and you won't go wrong with the Heads.

In fact, it was going over to a SL ski from a GS Ski, that really transformed my Skiing. Once you get that 'Feel' of the perfect carve and the controlled rebound, it's then easy to transfer all those feelings to other Ski's. My GS racing improved dramatically after months on Slalom Skis.

They are no good for going off piste, but pretty good everywhere else.

I maintained them myself. Every week they got the once over, all depending on conditions.

Go for it, you won't regret it.
