Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Selva Val Gardena Apre Ski

Hi

We had a great trip to Selva last year. We were there to ski and are not party animals but did feel we had not experienced all the Apre ski "options".

Can anyone recommend a mountain hut that's close to the village? In other words you can ski back and do not need to catch the last lift home.

Thanks!

Apres drinking on the mountain doesn't happen in Selva. The Saltos Bar (Ski School Bar) is our favourite. The Luis Kellar is also now a good apres venue post smoking ban. The bar above the Luis Keller play some superb music, care of the owner. Madeye-Smiley

+1 for the Luiskeller - basement can get v lively with German europop music. Great DJ.

On the slopes found a v lively bar at Piz Seteur, above Plan de Gralba where you can ski back to Selva from. They evn had go go dancers!

There's also a good après bar at Sankt Christinanat the bottom of the runs down at theCiampinoi side - you'd have to get the bus back to Selva though - only 10 mins.

Many thanks to you both, that's helpful.

We were in the luiskeller last year, very enjoyable.

Pid - I did not know it was possible to ski direct from Piz Seteur to Selva, I always thought it was necessary to go catch a chairlift back to Campioni or go to Plan de Gralba and jump on a bus?
I ask as this would be a great option for us, for example we would be able to spend an evening at the Rifugio Comici.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Dof - yep, instead of skiing right to the bottom of the cable car at Plan de Gralba, branch off to the left just before the top of the drag lift and there's a red that takes you back to Selva - at least there was last Feb!
