Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They are Decathlon brands I think and the daft way the Decathlon internet shop works is if your local store doesn't have it you can't buy it over the web! Could be worth ringing the store to see if they can get whatever you want for you

check out decatlon.fr or search on either brand name , as others have said here they are the ski and mountaineering brand names for decathlon products.
could order online and get delivered to a poste relais near where someone can pick up for you ( think you need a passport or id card to be able to collect something

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

With Decathlon if you find the product available in any of the stores and ring them they will post it for you. You still complete the online ordering process but you have to 'fudge' it by entering a postcode local to the store which has the stock in, you then make clear your real address postcode in another field! It's bizarre but this was how I was advised to get round the issue by the manager at the Glasgow branch.

mattiwilkin, quality is about on a par with stuff like Dare2B. No idea how prices compare.

Yep think Lizzard, has it right on on quality, Lidl, Dare2be, Trespass sort of level, Aldi is probably one up but the disadvantage of very limited availability.

If you go into store and the product you want is not in stock, they will order it from another store, providing it is in stock elsewhere in the UK. Apparently the online ordering system only applies to items that are in stock in your local store, and does not extend to other stores.
P.S. I have Decathlon, i.e. Wedze, ski socks, mittens and base layers and no complaints with any of them. Especially the base layers at under a tenner each.

Quality better than referred to elsewhere, quite a few guides are using it (although that may be due to sponsorship).

The quality of some of the Quecha stuff is excellent and I've no reason to suspect wedze is any different. I've used Quecha microfleeces for years. They seem to be doing a very neat micro puffa with lycra arms this year too for an unbeatable price.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Socks, fleeces, glove liners, base layers - bought these from Decathlon since we started skiing and can't fault them. I also got a down filled gilet last year, excellent for apres ski, very warm and a great hood on it.
The first year we skiied, we bough jackets and salopettes from there, as didn't want to spend a fortune if we didn't link skiing (as if, I hear you cry!!) - whilst it wasn't super quality, it did the job, and I was warm enough.
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure they're essentially a french company, so you see loads of people wearing their gear on the contient. If it's good enough for them...!

Large Quechua store by Sallanches (in valley between Megeve/Chamonix/Grand Massif triangle). Always lots of stuff for camping, climbing, skiing etc, always busy in there, prices low (for France), quality looks adequate to good overall. Many French families are all kitted out head to toe in Quechua!!
