It's been a while since we've seen some quality quiver porn on here and it's time to introduce my [very modest] quiver to the world, so I'll start off:
L: Icelantic Pilgrim
R: Whitedot Freeride Director
Both fitted with Quiver Killers and share Marker Barons

Surely mister's recently purchased purple beauties warrant a snowHeads debut, along side the other skis?

My quiver for this winter. I do have other narrower skis, but I rarely get the snow conditions to use them!

Yeah, really back eh! Recommended mounting point for the Megawatts, as the tip rocker starts at about the North Face sticker. They ride and tour well, but I do think they look kinda wrong!

MagSeven: As someone who skied 10 days in Utah in Jan 2009 (Alta, Snowbird, Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons) with wall to wall sun, warm temperatures, everywhere skied into a piste-like state and not one powder turn to be had, I now regard everywhere that boasts limitless, waist-deep powder with more than a suspicion of doubt.
If Mrs MA and I were to book a trip to Hokkaido, what do you reckon our percentage chances of powder are? Is any particular winter month generally more powdery than others? We would hate to waste thousands on a piste-skiing trip...
Cheers.

Alans deep bath, gosh, how long are the Directors? They look unbelievably long - though I appreciate the extreme likelihood that you're a lot taller than I am.

Alans deep bath, funnily enough - see the thread on ski lengths - my skinny ski length was 180, despite my being a midget. I guess one's just not used to seeing very long skis any more and you're probably tall enough to have skied 2m skis in the old days.

kitenski, nice! The black skis in the centre, I see them all over Cham. What are they?

Nice though it is to see all these skis with bindings there was something rather sexy about the first pic where they just lie there naked.
I'm also just a one pair guy these days. Now that airlines have such big restrictions on ski bags there seems no point in owning more.

Zero-G, those are High society freerides, a small us company, not sure they would be the ones you see in Cham though??
snowball, With quiver killers & just one set of bindings I took 2 pairs last year on easyjet with no problems.

Zero-G & kitenski, we had a pair in Cham the last couple of years & they were being used by a Yankee friend to instruct on, so they saw a bit of action, maybe they were the ones you saw.

Well, you can steal some weight from your suitcase to give you enough for 2 pairs but mine are very heavy with the new Baron bindings and anyway I have to put my boots in my ski bag which brings it up to the easyJet limit.

That's a distinctive graphic, I've definitely seen them in Cham. Perhaps it's midgetbiker's friend? I also hear a fair few American/Canadian accents in Chamonix, so it's not a stretch that they'd bring their NA skis with them.

Zero-G, ...excellent post and photo...small detail...i always thought you were an experienced and highly competent off-piste rider...do you ever feel inhibited by the fact that your skis don't have bindings? Personally, I find bindings quite handy...but maybe it's just me...

valais2, Yep, Andy is a great guy, and for me Storm are a local company, only about 15 miles away. The ones on the left are 09-10 Rage Pipelines (but according to Andy the only change for the 10-11 was the topsheet colour), my Cyclones are actually from the last pre-production run so got to play with these before they hit the shops, amazingly nimble for a mid fat ski. And yep the Elans are a great piste ski, they say Speedwave 11 but are actually a re-badged Speedwave 12 for Intersport, the spotty pattern on them is actually the transparent top sheet letting you see the titanium layer and the ripply effect is because the top of the ski is actually ripply!

As snowball said, naked on the floor is better.
