Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

matt23, What's your budget? you 'should' be OK in the vast majority if not all resorts snow wise but of course we don't know. I'll be in St Anton the end of March, it's pretty snowsure, has arguably the best apres bar none but isn't the best resort for beginners by some margain-Lech and Zurs would be better (same ski area) but are eye wateringly expensive.

How lively do you want your Apres, generally Austria has the full spectrum from queit to dancing on the tables and skiing back to your accom.....

Take a look at:

Seefeld
Igls
Kaprun
Niederau-Oberau
Ellmau

A good beginners resort to me is good access to the nursery slopes. You might want to edge your bets and go high, which means Ishgl, Solden, etc if you want lively apres not great beginners areas though. The Stubai Glacier has a great nursery area.

Obergurgl would also be a good bet - good beginners' slopes, snowsure and some lively (Nederhuette) but not mental après - although you can get the latter a few km down the road at Soelden.

matt23, Ischgl , great for beginners if you don't mind Downloading on the gondala at the end of the day as the red runs home can be carnage, but has some of the liveliest après in the alps Twisted Evil

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

matt23, Ischgl or even Kappl down the road is very good for beginners. Kappl is excellent for beginners (deserted slopes) and has surprisingly good apres. The apres up the road in Ischgl is definitely better. Ishcgl and Kappl are pretty high for Austrian standards although Kappl's slopes are south facing and will suffer more than Ischgl at that time of year.

matt23, depends on how you want to travel and what sort of beginners, young children, teenagers or adults.

A bit more info would give you a lot more choices.
