Thanks for those FlyingStantoni. I watched the first one and will view the second later. Some of my ski lessons have covered much the same topics. From a good stance initiate the turn by letting gravity act to pivot the skis towards the fall line. The word 'kink' and its explanation was not used, but I think the intention was the same.
Is there any way to view a YouTube video, a parts of it, in slow motion?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Just to be clear Adrian, you do not, repeat DO NOT want to do the Kink.
I meant the post ironically.

FlyingStantoni, OK, thanks for the clarification. Would you agree with the part where I said "From a good stance initiate the turn by letting gravity act to pivot the skis towards the fall line"?

Adrian, if you're an intermediate skier then there's nothing wrong with flattening your skis and letting gravity pull you into the falline. But as you get to be a better skier then you will need to be more active at the start of the turn in terms of getting on your edges earlier.

Adrian, I'd also say gravity isn't going to magically pivot your skis, as FlyingStantoni, says you are going to have to flatten them by transferring weight and rotate them......
and ignore all the knees clamped tightly together in the first video !!
