Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi folks, i'm looking for someone who would be interested in being a ski/board bum for this up coming season. i met a dude on this forum last year and had a great season in val d'isere... So i'm a 33 year old male, advanced on piste skier. i would go anywhere (apart from val d'isere) in the world for a min of 6 weeks, but would love to do the whole season.. i'm clean tidy and enough a few beers. skiing is my love so i wont be out clubbing to 5am everynight! so hopefully in might find some like minded people.......

I'm wondering how people afford these types of trips? 2 weeks of skiing almost kills me financially. Sure, I do a lot of other holidays, but ski holidays are sooooooo expensive. Maybe I just don't know the right places..... or really need to get a better job

There's an addage that travelling isn't expensive, it's travelling quickly that's expensive. The same is true of skiing - costs decrease rapidly if you stay longer.

A day pass in the Portes du Soleil costs 46 euros, but a season pass costs 800 euros.

Take a self-catering apartment for 4 weeks and you'll probably only pay for 3. Take it for the season and it'll cost you 8-10 weeks rental, rather than the 12-16 weeks you're there.

If you're there for a season then you (probably) won't eat out or drink every night.

Very true...I was paying less rent the year I spent in BSM than the year before in California. Living the last 3 years in Frisco, CO, I probably spent on skiing similar to what many of you spend for 2 weeks and averaged about 60 days a season (though some were short ones)...a season pass there can be had for £300 or less although I see some just went up $10-20 http://www.snow.com/epic-pass/passes.aspx

So what you are saying is that I have to tell the wife that, in order to save money, we have to go live in the Alps for half the year Very Happy
