Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

2011/12 New Year Sauze - Milky Way Advice/ New Year Bar Recommendations?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I am spending New Year in Sauze with a group of eight friends. I have a couple of questions about the resort and would be grateful for some insider knowledge.

1. Hopefully the snow will be good enough to ski the whole of the Milky Way area. Montgenèvre is the furthest linked resort and I am sure that lots of people have skied from Sauze so I am hoping someone can give me an idea of how long it takes to ski? All my friends are good intermediates and above. The last time I was there we took a bus which took a while and I would have preferred to have skied over.

2. Sauze has a party reputation any suggestions for New Year? I figure it is a choice between the Ghost and Irish bar but would appreciate any recommendations.

3. I understand it is possible to do a day in Val Thorens from Sauze but I haven’t found any online info on an organised excursion. Anyone have any info?

Finally anyone else heading out to Sauze for the week 26/12/11 to 2/01/12 let me know always good to meet fellow skiers/ riders for a blast in the snow or beer in the evening.

Cheers,

Rob
