Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Real life is getting in the way...!

So our usual plans to get out to the French Alps first two weeks in January is disrupted by the missus going off to cover the Student Winter games in Austria. (Great career opp. but dammit its cutting into my skiing time!)

So new plan.

We now are looking to go mid-late March. We were planning on the Meribel Area, good idea this time of year...?

Now, that would mean that I haven't been skiing for over a year, not happy. So we were thinking of driving up to aviemore before we got out. Now I have absolutely no idea about Aviemore with regards to when things usually open and everything else really.

Any advice would be appreciated whether for 'Meribel in March' or 'Aviemore Season'

Merci,

Mac

Meribel in April is still good. In March it should be superb.

No idea about Aviemore as I have never been there.

Aviemore from Newcastle is a pretty easy drive, we used to do it all the time when I was at Uni

Keep and eye on http://www.cairngormmountain.com/ for opening times etc.

As most people on SH's will say Scotland can be great as long as you pick the right time to go.
