Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chill Factor E

I believe planning permission was granted in April, and the original plan was that it would open in 2006.

Does anyone know what stage they are at with this?

For those who don't know - Chill Factor E is the snow dome planned for Manchester.

Good question. A quick Google uncovered this interesting news release from the Trafford Centre, where it's to be located. The team behind it are very knowledgeable in the ski biz, so if it happens it should be the best snowdome in the country.

David Sterland, who's mentioned in that release, is on the ski environmental committee I sit on, so I'll ask him next time I bump into him.

In the meantime, snowboardclub.co.uk have more about the plans - with links - on this page.

David Goldsmith,

Thanks - I'd seen those articles too, but they're a bit out of date. I've seen an ad for instructors for it, so I guess it's looking pretty likely it'll go ahead. Not sure if they've started construction yet - if they had I think we'd have heard about it.

I emailed Andrew Lockerbie who is one of the people behind this project and he said they plan to open in 2007. So still quite a way off then Sad
