Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best time to ski Canada?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

We are currently planning our first trip to Canada. We want to avoid school holidays/peak dates etc and also obviously would like some good weather! We have no idea about local holidays/school holiday dates etc, just want to avoid any crowds?!
We are looking at either big whit or sun peaks.

Any comments/suggestions on best time to go please!

Thanks

My personal choice is late Feb, and pretty much anytime in March, even running into April, depending on altitude.

It's generally less cold, less dark, 'though if you're expecting lashings of sun, stick to the alps. Xmas/New Year and January, Canada can be a desperate place.

As rogg says, loads of decent advice, if you can suffer the search function.

Oh, yeah, 'crowds' don't really exist most places, outside of say WB, certainly not weekdays, and not on an alpine scale. Don't let the local holidays put you off too much, it's pretty much a non-issue.

We were thinking of end feb anyway so sounds like a good idea, and glad to hear about lack of crowds!

You could look up BC school holiday dates; I beleive they don't get Family Day, and get Spring break earlier than Albertans

Calgary's spring break is one week in last week of march; the catholic system may be different.

I would go first two weeks in march?
