Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello all,
I shall be heading off to Denver in October and will have a free weekend 15/16 October. Does anyone know which is the best ski resort near to Denver and will there be any snow and will it be open?
Thanks
K

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

kosciosco, I much prefer A Basin out of the two but more of a drive.
fatbob, not necessarily but best if kosciosco keeps an eye on snow reports.
WROD... White ribbon of death - refers to single thin strip of artifical snow - just so the resort can say it's open and beat its neighbours. Glad I could tidy that up.

Hoping to avoid WROD. Any suggestions as to which websites have the best reporting for snow conditions in these areas? Are the resort websites themselves reliable?

Keep in mind the good terrain of A-basin are rocky, which needs a much thicker coat of snow to be ski-able.
