Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It's in German, but apparently that's what this article is about:

how would you connect feechopf to the rest of Zermatt isn't it a bit far..or are they just increasing Saa Fees area and not connecting into zermatt itself.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've done the last 2 seasons in saas and the plans have been afoot for a while now. The major step forward was that this year the Bergbahnen who operate the lifts secured land in the car-park to allow a lift uplink direct from there which is going to make the resort far more attractive for those that drive up from the Sion valley as there will be no long walk down into town to access Langfluh and Spielboden.

Last i heard the most recent plans from the Gemeinde were to install a lift which runs from the car-park via the sports-platz up onto Langfluh and Spielboden. This is really just a replacement for the current Spielboden bubble and Langfluh cable car, which are both incredibly outdated, although will add the link to the car-park and remove the need to change at Spielboden.

The extension to FeeKopf will follow and will open some new terrain but will not link directly to Zermatt. A large part of the financial incentive for this extension, as far as i understand it, is the potential use in Summer for people in Saas Fee who would lke to travel up for the view towards the Matterhorn and the extension to the summer ski area and reduction of reliance on drag lifts on the glacier.

There was talk of an underground rail link from FeeKopf to Zermatt funded by a Russian oligarch but this seems a bit far-fetched. Mind you, some would say the idea of a Russian oligarch was a bit far fetched not too long ago so who knows.
