I cannot find a ski shuttle from Geneva to Avoriaz, only to Morzine with a drop off at the Cable Car. Anyone know rough cost of upload? Or best just to get a taxi up to Avoriaz? Any thoughts would be appreciated (it will be on a Sunday pm)

Kiters, What time will you be arriving in Morzine? Where abouts will you be staying in Avoriaz? €7.20 for single journey! But that may be a better option than going up the road and then getting an internal transfer back down to the "Dromonts"!

Not an expert on the area, but stayed ther on a long WE nback in January. We were staying in Morzine and used the Super Morzine lift rather than the cable car. Worked really well.

we got one last year with ski lifts.com. I think they all drop you at the cable car if there is too much snow to get up the hill. That wasn't a problem last Feb when we were there. On a related issue if you do book with them, we found the private transfer option very good value for our party - it was only 3E more expensive than the shared transfer and it was super efficient.

Most of the transfer companies charge extra (around 10 euros) for the journey up to the car-park at Avoriaz itself. Though, if the road is shut, you're taken to the bottom of the Prodains cable-car anyhow.
The low-fare scheduled operators, like ourselves, drop at the bottom of the Prodains Cable-car all the time. The first cable-car down each morning is 07:00am and evenings it is open until 23:30 (subject to exact confirmation this winter) as it is used by people going out in the evening.
Best regards.

Andrew, thanks, are you saying you will take us up to Avoriaz for 10 euros then...

Kiters, It may not be easier for you to go up the mountain road! That is why I asked the question "where are you staying in Avoriaz?" The transfer will only take you to the recetpion area anyway and you will have to get an internal resort taxi anyway! Depending on when you arrive and where you are staying it would be better going up the Prodains lift.

You know it makes sense.

Roy Hockley makes an excellent point...when we stayed in Avoriaz the Prodains cable car was defintely the best way to arrive: it was a 2 min walk to our appartment and would've been about 15 from the Avoriaz car park.

We are staying at Falaise which I think is right at the top. Thanks everyone for advice, been in touch with old SkiidyGonzales, they seem a good bunch and very pleasant when I telephoned them today, so all sorted now.

Kiters, In that case a trip up the mountain may be more convenient for you! But it is not a hardship going up the Prodains and getting an internal transfer €8 per family to take you to the door! It will be the same price IIRC to go three buildings down! Enjoy the trip!
