Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm taking my 16 year old niece to Flacahu at Easter; she's a complete newb and probably has no idea what's going to happen to her (me: when can you get time off college to go skiing? her: will the summer holidays be ok? ) Laughing

My apartment is near the achterjet lift so I would like an English speaking ski school with a meeting place round there.

Any recommendations?

holidayloverxx, the Hermann Maier school is truly excellent. I booked a course of snowboarding lessons for my daughter a few years ago, and after the 3rd day she was really ill, the staff were so helpful, and said she could fit in with the classes again when she was feeling better. They all speak English, and the meeting point is about 5 mins from you, in front of the Flachauer Gutshof(opposite the Yeti bar) http://www.skischule-hermann-maier.at/ski-school-hermann-maier.html

If she is lucky she may get Hermanns dad, or his brother as a ski instructor

holidayloverxx, I was going to suggest them as I know them from working with the Red-White-Red. They are the original Flachau ski school from the days when there was only the one school per town/village. Ah them were the days wink

He comes over quite often and is out on the mountain a fair bit with promotion events, etc. Gerhard told me that he re-presented himself not long back for his licenses as well. I think he has to keep them up to date in order to run the ski school with his father.
