Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi everyone first post here. Im looking to go to the dolomites from 21-30th december. I will have to travel from bergamo airport and am looking for advice in transfering to sella ronda resorts and any good cheapish hotels you could recommend which I can book without the aid of tour operators. Thanks any advice will be greatly appreciated Very Happy

For Selva area you can find hotels on this page. http://www.val-gardena.com/en/
Around new years day the pists in Selva can be a bit crowded, but there is hardly any queue for the lifts.

Easiest way is to hire a car. Otherwise you can catch the train to Bolzano, Bressanone or Ponte Gardena and then change onto a bus. Though you will have to change trains at Trevigl or Brescia and then at Verona. Not much fun if your caryying ski gear and luggage.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

burnbank, not the cheapest resort to get to (transfer wise)! I would bite the bullet and hire a car as jimmybog, suggests! How many of you are going?

Thanks for the advice. There are only 2 of us going. I will have a bit of a rethink as Im not sure my driving skills are up to winter driving in the alps. I still want to ski the dolomites but may change the time of year I go. Any ideas on which is the best resort on the sella ronda. Thanks

If your planning on using public transport to get to a resort then I would choose Selva. Fly to Innsbruck or Verona and get the train to Ponte Gardena and then get a bus to Selva.

I was in St Anton last christmas and it looks like selva was just as cold as austria minus 20. Great for skiing as long as you have the right clothes
