Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I always think of the Steve McQueen quote at the end of Grand Prix (or was it Le Mans?) "Racing is life - everything else is just waiting". Always start getting itchy that first day in Autumn when you can smell the cold in the air. Got to go get the muscles remembering what to do - seems like ages since I last strapped the board on - dreading to see what condition my edges are in.

And thanks mluti for making my 1000th post about snowboarding rather than bloody luggage allowances on budget carriers or snow tyres or skiing *shudder*

Admin, subscription is in - can't spend this much time on SH and not hand over a few bob for running costs. snowHead

I'm only officially allowed to start getting excited on 1st October. The fact that I'm back on here again indicates that the last two weeks of September are always a bit of a struggle....

The board is strictly not allowed to be brought out from under the bed until November. This time last year, I found buying "Snowboarding the world" provided some relief.

I usually get the 'powder horn' for about an hour or so on July 21st. It's the summer solstice and what runs through my head is, "The days are getting shorter, so winter's coming". Razz

Need snow.... Fridges will temporarily sate my hunger, but it's a bit like having a Burger King, when what you really want is prime steak... Roll on Winter!

You are not alone, gagging for the winter. Did a wee bit of wakeboarding in the summer on Loch Lomond and N. Wales, a reasonable substitute, but not the same, yes I am also a sad case who has been thinking boarding a lot since 1st Sept.

You think your waits are bad. I skied as a kid (until the age of about 10), then nothing because I lived in South Africa and my mom stopped working for Lufthansa and so we didn't get the cheap trips anymore. Then I managed 1 trip in Lesotho which is the only place in Africa where you can ski. The place has 1 slope about 500m long and is filled with EVERYONE. Needless to say, there isn't much skiing that gets done. Then, we move to Europe in 2010 and finally I can go hit the slopes. We arrived at the end of the 2009/10 season but couldn't go due to bad timing and lots to do with the move. That's ok, I'll go the next season. Problems with residential status in Belgium (where we stayed first) meant I couldn't work for the year and so had absolutely no money to do a trip in the 2010/11 season Sad . Now, I've finally got the trips planned and am absolutely ecstatic about it. My wife thinks I'm mad cause I run around the house in my goggles and stare out the window chanting "come on winter.... come on winter"

Always in 2 minds about using the fridges in the run-up to going away. One half says it'll be great practice and a warm up to get the old muscle memory back and more fun than a trip to the gym or a run in the park in the drizzle, the other says some guffawing twunt is bound to take you out on your last run down or you'll dislocate your own crotch on the poma, and you won't be able to ride properly on your trip... it's a tough call

I've checked the weather thread at least three times a day every day since I discovered this lovely :SH: place in early winter last year. I had a weekend on Cairngorm and week in PDS. Put a deposit on a new board in late spring and managed to occupy myself for a bit building a new MTB. That said its pretty much its all I ever think about - nice to know I'm not alone, though my wife thinks I have some sort of mental disorder.

I cant believe you chaps stop thinking about snowboarding. I cant get it out of my head. If there's a medical condition I may have it. Already bought some new gear for the coming winter; pants are being replaced by Burton's bullet proof warranty, board on the way, and a jacket is in the pipeline as my old one is coming apart. I have 2 trips booked already, Chamonix for Xmas and Saalbach in March. Now where's my 'how to snowboard' book again...

Hello to all

I've had a holiday booked since August for January (Val Thorens) and just booked a trip to Norway in February and every day since booking I've been checking webcams and talking about it ,last month i tried all my gear on and decided i want new stuff and had restless sleepless nights thinking about what im going to buy at the snowboard show tomorrow at the N.E.C.

I'm so excited about January's holiday I feel like Im going to pop!

Im 37 going on 16 and Christmas used to be the highlight ,now its just another day to squander away thinking about my holiday .

Girlfriend can't make either holiday so both times its a lads holiday...10 of us going ,each sending more and more random snowboarding texts to each other every day ..my girlfriend's asked if I'm seeing someone else because of the little gigles i do when i get a holiday text and we're only in October !

Help me i have a problem . Madeye-Smiley
