Hi All,
We are organising our annual group ski trip to Pila arriving 15th january to the 21st (missing out weekends because we know it gets busy) There is a total of 11 of us and two couples have already booked thier rooms in our respective hotel. Another couple tried to book, and after sending an email 6 weeks ago, then chasing up the hotel twice they have just recieved back an email telling them they are full?! We know the hotel as have been before and find it very unlikely they are full for these dates. We therefore checked the crystal website (only tour op to offer that hotel) to find they have no availability either?! At first we thought the direct booking may of been turned down because they had just given crystal an allocation for the upcoming winter season, but now we are starting to wonder if there is something going on that week that we don't know about?
I have checked local school and national italian holidays and they all go back on the 8th, so that can't be it, but that wouldnt explain crystal being full either?!!
Any ideas snowheads? should we move our trip back a week or so?!!
Getting bit worried our beloved quiet pila will be rammed!

is it because you are trying to book a non-standard period of time? What happens if you try Crystal for their standard changeover dates?

We looked on crystal website thy are show no availability for that week at all in pila! Which is really weird.... Especially when we know it should be really quiet that week. It's he same if u change dates for Saturday- Saturday or Sunday-Sunday arrival. We were wondering if maybe some hotels are either shut completely it only half open that week( we have had that before in small Italian resorts last two weeks of january).

Tried googling for racing but can't find anything in pila.... It's really weird !

cbowls30, Crystal has 3 hotels in Pila showing as having availability for 15 Jan departing from Gatwick and 5 for 22 Jan  . What airport are you wanting to leave from, as that may restrict availability? You definitely wouldn't be able to book with Crystal mid-week to mid-week and if you book direct with the hotel, they may have allowed a few rooms to go but they probably wouldn't want to allocate more rooms as it does mess up the weekend-weekend normal booking.

BTW - I got a bit confused as your title says week commencing 25 jan and then your OP says 15-21 Jan...

Try www.Pilaski.co.uk carol should be able to find some accommodation in resort somewhere for them

i meant 15th - 21st --- typ error in title, sorry, i've dropped an email to pilaski to check thier availability. We've since had some emails back direct from a couple of hotels saying they have plenty of rooms available and that the last two weeks in january are always very quiet...... so don't quite get why crystal have nothing in the hotel we are after and why the hotel is suddenly full, we are starting to wonder if its because its SO quiet there they are only releasing a few rooms to save cost/heating etc, we've experienced that before in other small italian resorts, we went to madesimo in january once and were literally the only people in the hotel during the week and some hotels were even completely shut during that week!
