Any recommendations. I dont want a cr4ppy one as will be putting the Muvi on it and my Lumix camera, so dont want them to fall off. Also, how easy are they to ski with and do I need a rucksack to store in when not using (fit in pocket??)
Any advice would be great

Gaffer tape and a ski pole...unless you're a good skier or can put together a good edit then its bound to look poo-poo anyway so why waste the money.
you can bodge bike light mounts, but looking at the MuVi its not the most ideal shape for it, whats the car mount like? suction? the lumix probably be a more straight forward option.. You might want to consider the temperature and water exposure aswell, as a boom cam will be exposed to both more.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If you;re holding a camera pole while skiing, you won't be able to use your own poles. Use one of them for the camera. All you need is a clamp on ball head - maybe something like this?
http://www.vimeo.com/19406013 it has got slagged off on the snowboard bit of this forum but some people really are stupid.
My only gripe is his Virus, to skinny. Most people who ride boards like this have at least 19" between the feet.

thanks all. would be renting skis so cant ducst tape them, But then looking at the video posted from Colin B, dont really want to look like an idiot and filming myself looking like an idiot. Im not too bad as editing film so could do something good with the pole cam - was thinking more like http://youtube.com/v/f-oyjdZD-lY although I cant ski like him so will prob look like the 1st bloke!!
Think will give it a miss an enjoy the skiing instead of worrying about the filming. Will strap the Muvi to the helmet and be done with it

Jon Ford as stated on the various threads re head cams etc it is all about editing and why you are filming in the first place.
The bad example shown above is just dull rather than bad. It uses the same camera angle for far too long. However, cut into various other angles/runs it would be OK. It always suprises me how short the bursts of video can be in a film to give the right flavour of what you want to show. 5 secs is a long time.
On a week's trip I will typically film 4 hours or so of video but edit it to well under 10 minutes. The boys from the tour watch it for a laugh and a reminder of last year's trip when we have the curry night arranging next year. It works quite well as it gives everyone a great excuse to relive their past glory (?) and it is a great laugh to watch previous years - some footage of which is now legendary (in the way of boy's stories rather than really of any importance).
Can't post any examples here though. First rule of a boy's tour etc.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Cheers Tiger2. Attached is the first ski video I edited (2011) Plan to do a better job for 2012 as already invested in headcam for better shots - already prepping which shots to do and trying to make a series of events (ie - ski jumps for one video, slow moving for apeaceful one etc) so will be filming loads) May get the pole attachment as posted above - then can just attach to pole instead of carrying 2 poles and extending stick-thing. Would only use it on the gentle runs where I didnt need the poles to ski (and wouldnt fall over)
