Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Flims / Laax

I'm looking at a trip to Flims/Laax this coming winter. Never been to the area before but the skiing sounds good so we're keen to give it a try. Can any experts offer a little advice... in particular:

Does it really matter where you stay? It looks like you can get between the resorts pretty quickly by bus etc, so if we stayed in Laax for example we could easily get to Flims of an evening?
Is one better than the other for access to the skiing?

Any tips for cheap(ish) hotels. I think we've ruled out the Riders Palace on account of possible noise from the club. We'd like to go to clubs/bars but we'd also like to sleep... we're a gang of 4 blokes, don't mind roughing it a bit but would like a good night's sleep.

The Capri lounge hostel looks OK (http://www.caprilounge.ch/), has anyone stayed there? It seems very cheap, are there any downsides to it? It looks like it might be a bit of a trek to the lift maybe?

Cheers in advance, and role on winter!

sah, I went at half term 2010, trip report here

Laax Murschegt is very easy for accessing the mountain, there's a gondola and cable car, we didn't see a queue there even at half term. At Flims the queues at the base station seemed a lot bigger and many of the hotels are a fair way away. We didn't venture into Flims at night but there aren't too many bars and restaurants at Laax Murschegt.
