Hi
It's my first post on here and just wanted to say Hi and tell you about what i've been up to during last season.
After a long but awesome season in the rockies last year with Gap Year Canada I took some time to make an app that made finding the best resorts easier.
You can search by ability and type of riding you're into and access to resort specific data, videos, piste maps and websites.
Hopefully as it grows it can develop into a community of linked up boarders and skiers that give real and honest feedback on resorts that updates in real time.
It's in the app store if you search 'ski resort finder' but after a bit of feedback from this forum i'll upload a working demo so you can make sure it's not total nonsense before I post anything else.

Just trying to let people know its out there. There's a whole bunch of riders that have worked hard on this so it would be rubbish if we didnt tell people about it.
It's made up of riders and seasonaires opinions from all over so we hope it's a more down to earth look at resorts.

To be honest the only thing i can suggest if you think this is all sell, sell, sell you should check it out on the store before you download and see if its for you and any feedback is much appreciated. This is version 1 so fingers crossed we can only improve it with feedback from riders.

Why the hell am I going to pay for an App when this info is available for free on the web & particular on interactive websites such as this one? No free demo to confirm it's not complete shjiite?

Snow_Resort_App, what fatbob, said. There's so much free stuff out there that you need at least a free demo version if you're going to convince people to pay.

The app brings all the info you need into one place so you're not having to search around through multiple sites/screens.
Plus you don't need to be online to use it.
I'll upload a demo so you can see it working.

Afternoon all, after a crazy few months and lots of development thanks to feedback from people on here and other forums we're close to launching our second free version of the app.
Version 1 is currently FREE on the apple store, follow one of the links if you'd like to see how it works.
Version 2 will feature more resorts/reviews, live weather reports, hi res piste maps, discounts that are related to the resort you search for plus lots of other bits and pieces. If all goes to plan this will be available as a FREE update from January 2012.
We're also in the process of launching our website too which will feature the same down to earth reviews from our network of riders plus some vids and features on all things snow related.
Thanks again for all the interest so far and all the comments both negative and positive it's all useful.

have to say not looking great. missing lots of big resorts, piste maps just goes to a skinned google search page and videos just goes to skinned youtube page. got it free and still feel a little cheated that it has taken my time and space on device.
try harder guys. much harder.

Sorry you didn't like it. That's a shame you deleted it because version 2 is coming soon and is a big improvement. As for your comments on piste maps/videos this is all taken care of in version 2. RE: Video, the reason it goes to youtube was to try and offer as much choice as possible and not just a marketing video from the resort.
It's all reviewed by real people so there's a limit to how many resorts we have covered so far.
We actually go and visit the resorts ourselves so at the moment there's 51 resorts worldwide with more being added in the coming months.
I'd be interested to know which resorts you feel are big resorts. You can suggest resorts and we'll do our best to update the list once we've reviewed them.
