Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morzine Ski Lessons

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,
I'm heading out to Morzine for a couple of weeks skiing at the beginning of January and I've just been looking around at a few of the ski schools as I'm wanting to book quite a few private lessons. Morzine ESF are charging 76 EUR for a two hour lesson between 12:30pm and 2:30pm. All the other ski schools I've looked at are charging around £100 for one hour lesson.

Is there a reason for this? I've had ESF lessons in other resorts before and always found the instructors to speak relatively good English, be very patient, and overall be good instructors. So why the low price? It just seems too good to be true......

Look at BASS morzine, yes they are more expensive than ESF buy you get what you pay for, you can get lucky with an ESF instructor but with a British run school you are guaranteed that all the instructors are top level as it is the only way they can teach their legally

ChrisKitchen, have a look at the BASS group options - they advertise some 6 or 9 hour "performance" courses which sound excellent and are a lot cheaper than the same number of hours 1 to 1. Would be small group. I had some lessons with BASS Les Gets, many years ago, as did several others in our group, at a range of levels - they were all excellent, and value for money given the quality of input we got.

Bit of "luck of the draw" with ESF, as CEM says.

why not give BASS a ring (though there may be nobody around at the moment) and have a chat about your requirements?

ChrisKitchen, ESF Morzine certainly had made considerable efforts to cater to the anglophonic market as of a few years ago.
