Now that we're almost in to August, it's about time I start getting the legs ready for a hopefully long ski season - only 2.5 - 3 months before the potential new snows arrive
Lots of biking and maybe some running. What does everyone here do to get the legs ready, even if you do nothing?

shoogly, I think really hard about it and start twitching. Aside from that, the heavier my glass the more muscles engaged to lift it to my lips. Or I just get out on the bike.

Squats, lunges, mainly lunges as you have to work hard to stabilise the knees. Lots and lots of them.

Getting out on the MTB is great prep, and it's great fun, too. Ride 2-3 times per week and supplement with some core exercises - planks, side stars, ball exercises, deadlifts, etc - and you'll be able to ski from dawn to dusk for a week without breaking into a sweat.

Joined a gym recently. Had a good look around, tested the sunbed, did an hour boxercise, then some weights. Asked the duty manager some questions about cancelling my membership, had a shower and left.
Going back in a couple of days for another workout and to try out a few more things, then I'll cancel.
A mystery shopping company is paying me £40.00 to do it. Result.

You've wasted your time. How many ski resorts have a McDonalds in them? Kitzbuhel is the only one that springs to mind.

Whistler, Fernie, Revelstoke, Banff, Tahoe, Mammoth, SLC (*100), Jackson etc etc. You can shove your fancy dan croissants when you can have a sausage mcmuffin in your hand driving to the slopes

fatbob, not sure why you'd want to drive about with one of those in your hand. Though it's probably better than putting it in your mouth, admittedly.

Does Bourg St Mourice count? It's got a lift (train) to Les Arcs
