Poster: A snowHead

Just ordered my first set of ski's.
Been skiing for 17 years and always thought it was easier to hire.
Couldnt really justify it but they were lovely.
Is this just the start of my next addiction?

We should play a game where you tell us what kind of skiier you are, and we have to guess what you bought.

Lovely? Ian, get a grip. Are you a girl?
By the way, what colour are they?

ianbradders, Well done, I hope that you enjoy them. I would not know where to start. The choice seems endless, and I would not know what was right for me. Atomic D2 would be my choice. I am a piste mainly skier.
Would like to know what people like and recommend, love the look of the Whitedots, but they are about off piste?

They ski pistes just fine - particularly when conditions are anything less than solid (and with a bit of skier versatility) but there are many more appropriate skis if you're a dedicated piste speedster or cruiser. Look is the last thing to worry about even if you are a girl.

fatbob, Thanks fatbob, may have worded that badly, White dots get great reviews here, but I thought as I mainly ski piste, Atomic /Dynastar/Head is where I should be looking.
"all mountain skiing" seems the focus of the whitedots and if I am honest its not what I do.

OK, we are assuming ianbradders is called Ian and thus male.
Been skiing for 17 years so will have progressed to "all-mountain" type skis rather than specialist park/off piste as he would have bought before now if that were the case.
They are "lovely" - tricky one that, one man's lovely is someone else's dull plank.
They were obviously a bargain (he only just bought them) so they are not the most popular (cos these sell out).
I've still got no idea. Head I say.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

lightningdan, I can thoroughly recommend the D2's as piste skis - loved them. Very nearly bought a pair too, but ended up with Head Great Ones instead, bit more all mountain and just as much fun. But if you want dedicated piste, then try the D2's.

Schuss in Boots, Thanks for that, tried them in December and really liked them, great on ice but it all went a bit wrong when we had nearly a meter of powder.
