Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone tried the speed riding school in les arcs?????

This is something i've always fancied trying and with an impending trip to Arcs 2000 in January i think the time has come.

Has anyone had a go at this and if so what did you think? From their website it doesn't seem overly expensive as long as you get a few decent runs at it.

I know this has been discussed on here some time ago and a few people had tried it. However the search function on here does not seem to go back to everything (I've tried to look before now for things I had said myself years ago and not been able to find them).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

snowball, Had you spotted that some time ago now the defaults changed on the search function, you now have to change from thread titles to all text in thread unless you are certain you are looking for a thread name.

fastandicy, The flying K is mentioned in the two links above if that's any help to you.

Megamum, thanks, yes, I did see that ... but cannot, as I said, find some old things I know were on here. It comes back saying nothing fits the criteria. Is there some time limit to the search function or something?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

snowball, Megamum, I'm having the same problem that i can't find the older post. The search engine on here always seems to be the thing that lets me down

snowball, fastandicy, Google searches SH's way better than it's own search function. I think you just need to
"search for your required subject:snowheads"
Or something like that, I'm sure that will be corrected.

It's not a parachute - it is called a wing or canopy! Kite surfing on skis. You may find it difficult to get any insurance cover and you will definitely need it! There were attempts to ban it here in Germany, not sure how it turned out though. Kite surfing on the otherhand is allowed and very big in the winter on Chiemsee (near where I live!) wink

Samerberg Sue, That can't possibly be true! i had a kite when i was little and it looked nothing like that Laughing

Arno, Got ya. i mis-read that

Whitegold, For that i would need a kite and an idea what i'm doing. I have neither of these. Hence the idea of getting lessons but i'm just trying to work out if anybody on here's done lessons before and get an idea what i'm paying for.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

fastandicy, A paraglider manufacturer called Gin Gliders produce speed skiing wings - they have/had one called Nano a couple of years back. Maybe Google Gin Gliders and contact them to find out if they know of any schools teaching with them. The people I know who use them are either kite surfers or fly paragliders in summer.
