Jo225, and again, we're talking about an airport hotel where long stay parking is the norm |
Irrelevant.

and where there were plenty of unused disabled parking spaces available. |
When you arrived, maybe. How on earth do you know that this was the case for the duration of the time that you parked there? You were out of the country!
You really don't get it, do you? Disabled parking spaces are there for the purpose of making access easier for disabled people. They are not there for the security of your car when you and the disabled person are on holiday in another country. How hard is that to understand?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Jo225, I understand your point. And if there weren't plenty of disabled spaces I might have acted differently. But I really didn't see an issue. Whenever I have my mum with me, I use her badge and park in disabled spaces, just as whenever I have one or more of my nephews or nieces with me I park in a family space. I probably wouldn't park in the last available space unless I was only going to be 10 mins.
I don't feel I did anything wrong here. You're at liberty to disagree but I'd probably do the same again if the situation arose.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think this is where you are crossing from genuine ignorance to outright abuse of the system. Hopefully not all carers are as selfish or you'll never get a space.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

holidayloverxx, yep, you're right, time I stopped banging my head against this particular wall of (wilful or otherwise) ignorance.
fatbob, exactly. Very well said.

More sanctimonious snowheads who obviously never even creep above the speed limit. I give up too.

queen bodecia, We aren't talking about speed limits. We are talking about legitimate use of a disabled parking space. I have never used one without a badge and the fact that you can't see why (in our opinion) you are wrong says a lot abut your determination to be thought of as in the right regardless of the moral issue.
If by sanctimonious you mean we are making a show of being morally better than you, then yes, speaking for myself, I do think I'm morally better than you on this point.

What is this supposed to mean, exactly? Don't be ridiculous.
holidayloverxx, really, she's never going to get it. I'm finding it pretty hard to stomach too, but I think we're running out of ways to explain. If it's not clear to her by now, it's never going to be, unfortunately.

Sorry, I'm bored of this now. If there were only a handful of disabled parking spaces at this hotel, I would understand where you're coming from. But there were tons, so I wasn't doing anyone any disservice. I'm moving on now and getting on with my life. I suggest you lot do the same.

queen bodecia, you can have no idea whether, in your absence, you did anyone a dis-service or not.
So now you're bored, hey-ho - add that to arrogant and ignorant.
