Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Italian Telepass no longer accepting UK bank payments

To all you DIY’ers.

Just a quick word to the wiser (as I found out last week).

HSBC “was” the only UK bank account that you could use direct debit for Telepass – but not any more.
I only opened that account to pay my Telepass Confused Mad

If you pay your (Italian) Telepass from a HSBC bank (UK) account it will not be updated from your HSBC account. The credit that is on the Telepass will not be affected but, after it’s gone, you’ll need to pay cash or use an (Italian) Via-Card.
Note: UK Visa cards are not accepted, but Italian Via cards are fine.
You’ll need to apply for a Via card from, you guessed it, the same company that owns the Telepass system.

You can still use an Amex Card, even if issued by a UK bank but you will need to register an Italian postal address. But..... as Telepass only ever use e mail, then you could (of course I would never suggest you do so) use any Italian address.

HSBC is still on the list of banks that you can use see here but this needs to be an Italian account.

EDIT
You can still use HSBC at Bancomat al Punto Blu (found at most motorway service stations) to add credit to your Telepass, But as you can see here, it's not on the on-line list anymore so you won't be able to add credit from the UK - you need to be at the bank-machine to do it

Just noticed that ING Direct is now on the list - will look into this

Don't they check the address is the registered address for the payment card?

I think that you can use your French Sanef/IPRR telepeage in Italy (which accept UK Banks) - at least my Sanef tag worked in Italy a couple of summers ago !
