Do you know if Equity Ski do any last minute deals? And if so, has anyone had one and for what price/discount?
We would be looking at going mid-end January 2006 and don't want to book until the last minute to see where the snow is.

Hannah, most companies (in any area of business) will discount something - often discreetly - if they can't sell it.
I'd ask them very nicely at the right time, if you think they might have something for you.
Four handy phrases, at the key time, which can only be viewed as polite should they welcome your enquiry and potential business:
"Please could you give me a quotation for x"
"Company y has just quoted me z"
"What is the best price you can quote me?"
"Is that the very best price you can quote me?"

I've been with them last minute, they reduced the price by about 20%. Paid just under 450 I think for a week in Folgarida including lessons, lift pass, ski hire etc, although e knocked a further £20 as we took our own gear.

Thanks nbt - how did you find Folgarida? We are a nervous intermediate skier and an early intermediate snowboarder - would this place suit us?
They do seem to have a lot of places which sound good but also a lot which aren't very mainstream and so can't find that many reviews on them.

Hannah, here the IYS resort review. But be sure to go to the User Surveys where a few people beg to differ with the IYS overview. There is even doubt about whether they are reviewing the right place !!
Bit low but 70% snow cannon cover. Sounds as though it would suit the 2 of you.

I Enjoyed folgarida. it's lift linked to Madonna di Campiglio, but we chose not to pay the extra for the lift pass as we didn;t reckong we'd get much chance to use it.
For early intermediates, I;d say it;s great, only one or two black runs in the resort that I recall. Excellent pizzas as well  )
