Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bindings don't fit my Burton board... HELP!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just got a 2011 Burton 162 Custom Wide from the states and my initial plan was to put my old Head PX-7 bindings on the board. But the bindings do not fit in to the Burton M6 Transition kit that was provided to me with the board.

Does anybody know what bindings would fit on to this board as it has the new channel system of bindings and need to grab them before next week when I head off.

Thanks

Yeah any of the Burton EST ones will give the best fit for sure. Not sure I'd be happy riding some sort of adaptor so a normal type binding would fit anyway.

Where abouts are you in the UK? Then we can help with your nearest stockist.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm in Hertfordshire at the moment.

Is it that much different riding on an adaptor as i've never riden on one before?

Do the EST bindings fit well on the channel system of the Burton boards?

Yes the est binding is for the ics boards. The adaptor provided should be ok as long as you can get enough screws into it - but you are probably better off getting a proper EST binding. Burton do a decent enough range in reasonable price brackets.

EST bindings are superb. Why spoil the set up using adaptors as these will add flex and height to the bindings?

In what way don't they fit? Do the discs physically not fit into the baseplate hole?

If so, just use a stanley knife to shave a bit of material off either the disc or the baseplate so that the EST compatible disc fits.

I will personally guarantee that you won't die.*

*Not due to slightly bodging your bindings anyway.

Have a look around for bindings from last season. I picked up a pair of 2011 CO2 EST bindings (discontinued and replaced with the Diode this year) for 25% off and they are fantastic bindings. Can't fault Burton, too... I got a bit overzealous with the ankle ratchet and it broke up the mountain in Laax. Emailed rider services and they sent 2 replacements for free, so I have a spare should the same thing happen again.

I use CO2s as well. They become part of the board when bolted into the channel. There is no flex.

There will always be the Burton haters but ICS/EST really is superb.

Moving your bindings back 75mm, on the piste, in 60 seconds, without taking your gloves off, because you just found a huge stash off the side? That'll be EST.
