Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Despite the 22 degree temperatures in the Rhone valley, the lower runs in many resorts seemed to be holding up. Resort runs in St Luc/Chandolin and Grimentz were icy in the morning, nice at lunchtime, heavy in the afternoon. Higher up there was good snow around 2500-3000, but a few runs were closed in Grimentz and Zinal because of avalanche risk - indeed the bowl above Zinal had a few obvious signs of avalanche activity right next door to the mogul run off the top. Not a good weekend for off-piste! Weather outlook is warm and sunny, although not quite as warm as it has been. Across the Rhone, Crans-Montana looks in pretty good shape considering, but bare patches abound. Got to give the resorts credit, they are desperately trying to keep things in good shape for Easter and seem to be succeeding in many places.
