Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Roof Boxes

Current one (5 years old) has a split in the bottom of the box, and is on it's second set of support struts. I think OH has also said it is wonky too. It was a cheapish generic box from Ebay so I'm not going to try and get spares again.

I've been looking around, and Roofbox company seem to be recommending KAMEI boxes . Any good?

I've a Kamei one. Seems good.

I understand that on the continent they're thought of more highly than Thule.

Mosha Marc, THule seem to have become rather expensive, and I was wondering if the more reasonable cost was why. As long as they are of reasonable quality. They have a 6 year guarantee too, so may be a good option.

Hells Bells Mosha Marc, After a huge hunt last month to find a roof box to take 7 pairs of skis I ended up going for a Halfords one, they were the best price (half price offer), there own make appears to be Mont Blanc with a Halfords logo.

Our trip down to Les Arc with a full length full width box (on a Volvo V70), fully loaded car with 4 people, MPG was only on average 2 to 3mpg down Very Happy Very Happy

I bought a Halfords one a couple of years ago, seems fine for what we have chucked at it. Probably a bit big, but for the sale price I couldn't resist.
You could probably transport the whole ski stock from a large hire shop and still have room for luggage Laughing

I have had a Kamei for many years and found it to be great, seems better made that the Thule or other brands or was back then at least

i was told when i bought mine that a BMW/AUDI or VW supplied box was in fact a Kamei under the covers

Bah! Think yourself lucky that you don't need to transport 180 length skis. Mine don't even fit into our big Thule box, even diagonally Sad
